The COMECO signal isolators TRI(L) are compact two-wire current-to-currenttransmitters providing optical isolation between the input and output currentloops. The isolation level is normally 3750 VAC for TRIL and 2500 VAC forTRI, but can be increased optionally to 4000 VAC. These signal isolators areentirely passive devices; they do not generate any supply voltages and do notneed any additional supply for operating. The input part is powered by theinput current loop (4…20 mA) and the output part is powered by the outputcurrent loop.

TRIL is available in 2 variants: - passive: an entirely passive device, which does not generate any supply voltages and does not need any additional supply to operate; the input part is powered by the input current loop (4…20 mA), and the output part is powered by the output current loop; - active: uses the energy of the output loop power supply (3-wire connection) to generate an isolated supply voltage for the input loop; provides an increased input over-voltage and over-current protection. TRIL is designed for mounting on a 35 mm DIN rail according to EN50022, but it can be also enclosed in an IP65 protection box for wall mounting.
